This Seattle kitchen presented unique challenges due to its complex layout, requiring precise measurements and multiple cutouts for the sink and cooktop. The homeowner wanted the natural stone to seamlessly integrate with their modern design aesthetic while maintaining functionality. Additionally, the existing cabinetry needed to be considered to ensure a perfect fit, demanding careful planning and execution.
The Statuaretto stone's natural veining required meticulous handling to align patterns across the surface, maintaining a continuous flow. This was particularly challenging given the multiple slabs involved. The honed finish was also a specific request from the client, adding another layer of complexity in ensuring the finish was consistent across all slabs.
Furthermore, the location in Seattle's bustling neighborhood posed logistical challenges in delivering and handling the large slabs within the urban setting, requiring careful coordination and planning to avoid disruptions and ensure a smooth installation process.
Precision Templating and Fabrication
To tackle the intricacies of this project, we started with the STONEEX digital laser scan, capturing precise measurements of the kitchen space. This ensured all cutouts and edge profiles were accurately planned, allowing us to align the natural veining seamlessly.
Our in-house Kirkland facility utilized state-of-the-art CNC fabrication technology to execute precision cuts. This process was crucial for achieving the desired honed finish and eased polished edges, ensuring that each piece fit perfectly within the intricate layout of the kitchen. The CNC machinery allowed us to create precise cutouts for the undermount sink and cooktop, matching the client's specifications flawlessly.
We carefully planned the seam location along the sink area, using our expertise to minimize visibility and ensure a smooth surface. Our team meticulously matched the veining patterns across the slabs, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the Statuaretto stone and providing a cohesive look throughout the kitchen.
