Common Questions

Architectural Surfaces Seattle materials — FAQ

Architectural Surfaces supplies PentalQuartz engineered quartz (93% natural quartz bound with resin in multiple finishes), Infinity Italian porcelain large-format slabs (UV-stable and heat-resistant), and premium natural stone including granite, marble, quartzite, soapstone, and limestone. All available through their Kent, WA showroom.
Yes — and we strongly recommend it. Our Kirkland showroom carries full Architectural Surfaces slabs across PentalQuartz, Infinity porcelain, and natural stone. For veined patterns and natural stone especially, the difference between individual slabs is significant. You approve the specific slab before we cut. Visit Mon–Fri 8 am–5 pm or call ahead for a Saturday appointment.
Pricing varies by material type: PentalQuartz runs $58–$138/sq ft installed, Infinity Porcelain $69–$150/sq ft, Granite $52–$127/sq ft, Marble $75–$173/sq ft, Quartzite $81–$184/sq ft, and Soapstone $63–$138/sq ft. Final cost depends on edge profile, cutouts, backsplash, and project complexity. Use our quick calculator above or the full quote tool for a project-specific estimate.
Template to completed installation in 10–14 business days for standard projects. That includes 1–2 days for STONEEX digital templating, 5–8 days for CNC fabrication in our Kirkland shop, and 1 installation day. Timeline applies to all Architectural Surfaces material types — PentalQuartz, Infinity porcelain, and natural stone.
PentalQuartz is engineered — 93% quartz crystal bound with resin, non-porous, never needs sealing. Natural stone from Architectural Surfaces (marble, granite, quartzite, soapstone) is quarried, each slab unique, and typically requires periodic sealing. Infinity porcelain is fired ceramic — UV-stable, scratch-resistant, and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Infinity Italian porcelain slabs are the strongest outdoor option — UV-stable, frost-rated, and stain-proof. Granite is also suitable for outdoor countertops with proper sealing. PentalQuartz is indoor-only because the polymer resins degrade under UV exposure. We also carry other outdoor alternatives from other suppliers if needed.
