The Challenge

Precision Cladding Alignment Challenge

The primary challenge in this Kirkland project was achieving seamless alignment of the Abu Dhabi White Neolith panels across the wardrobe doors. With its delicate golden and gray veining, any misalignment would disrupt the visual continuity we aimed for. Additionally, the ultra-thin nature of Neolith required careful handling to prevent damage during fabrication and installation.

Another consideration was integrating the Neolith with warm walnut wood framing. This required precise measurements and cuts to ensure a perfect fit, maintaining the minimalist design while allowing for the natural beauty of the materials to shine. The handle-free design added another layer of complexity, necessitating an exact match in dimensions to allow for easy operation of the wardrobe doors.

The project also had to be completed within a tight timeline, without compromising on quality. This required meticulous planning and coordination with our in-house Kirkland fabrication team to ensure that each element was ready for installation as scheduled.

Our Approach

Meticulous Planning and Execution

To overcome the alignment challenge, we utilized our STONEEX digital laser scanner to create precise templates of the wardrobe doors. This technology allowed us to capture exact dimensions and veining patterns, ensuring that each Neolith panel was cut to align perfectly with its neighboring pieces.

CNC fabrication at our Kirkland facility was crucial for achieving the needed precision. The advanced machinery enabled us to cut the sintered stone with exacting accuracy, preserving the natural flow of the veining across the panels. The eased edge profile was also crafted using CNC technology, enhancing the overall sleek appearance of the installation.

During installation, our team meticulously positioned each panel, using the digital templates as a guide. The integration with walnut wood was achieved by closely collaborating with the carpentry team, ensuring that all elements were aligned seamlessly. The result was a flawless execution that respected both the aesthetic and functional requirements of the design.
