The Challenge

Seamless Dekton Cabinet Cladding & Integrated Lighting

This Seattle kitchen project required the fabrication and installation of a continuous 4 mm Dekton Laos cabinet cladding system across multiple cabinet doors, drawer fronts, end panels, and exposed cabinet sides. The primary challenge was achieving a seamless architectural appearance with consistent alignment, minimal reveals, and uninterrupted stone surfaces throughout the cabinetry.
Because Dekton Laos Matte is only 4 mm thick, precision fabrication, substrate preparation, and handling were essential to maintain structural integrity during manufacturing, transportation, and installation. Every panel required exact sizing and careful edge treatment to ensure a uniform fit while preserving the clean, contemporary design.
The cabinetry also incorporated concealed integrated LED lighting, requiring precise coordination between the cabinet construction, electrical components, and Dekton cladding. Lighting channels and clearances were engineered to remain hidden from view while providing functional illumination without interrupting the continuous stone finish.
Working within an occupied Seattle residence added logistical complexity, requiring careful sequencing, protected material handling, and precise installation to deliver a refined, monolithic appearance that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding architectural elements.

Our Approach

Precision Fabrication for Seamless Dekton Cabinet Cladding

To achieve a continuous architectural appearance, the Stoneex Surfaces team utilized advanced digital templating to capture precise measurements of the cabinetry, surrounding walls, and architectural details. This process ensured every 4 mm Dekton Laos panel was fabricated to exact dimensions, allowing the cabinet doors, drawer fronts, end panels, and exposed sides to align with consistent reveals and a seamless finish.
Each Dekton panel was precision CNC fabricated at our Kirkland facility using advanced machining technology designed for ultra-compact surfaces. Specialized fabrication techniques, edge finishing, and quality control procedures were employed to safely process the 4 mm material while maintaining dimensional accuracy and minimizing stress during fabrication, transportation, and installation.
To preserve the uninterrupted stone-clad appearance, the integrated LED lighting system was engineered in coordination with the cabinet design. Hidden lighting channels and concealed mounting details were incorporated into the cabinetry structure before installation, allowing the illumination to enhance the workspace without exposing fixtures or disrupting the continuous Dekton cabinet cladding. The result is a clean, contemporary kitchen that combines precision craftsmanship with modern architectural design.

The Result

Stunning Modern Transformation with Dekton Laos Cladding

Result description: The completed project in a Seattle residence demonstrates a refined architectural upgrade centered on Dekton Laos Matte cladding applied across key vertical and surface elements. The material selection delivered a consistent, textured visual field that reinforces the home’s contemporary design language while maintaining a continuous, monolithic appearance across cabinetry and wall-integrated surfaces.
Precision fabrication and installation were executed to accommodate full-height cladding requirements, ensuring tight joints, accurate alignment, and uniform surface transitions throughout the space. The result is a cohesive architectural finish rather than a segmented application, with the stone veneer functioning as an integrated design envelope.
Discrete LED integration was incorporated to accentuate surface depth and material movement without disrupting the visual continuity of the Dekton Laos panels. Lighting placement was calibrated to emphasize edges and planar transitions, enhancing legibility of the cladding system under both ambient and artificial conditions.
The client approval reflected satisfaction with both the technical execution and the final architectural outcome. The project reinforces the capability of Absolute GM to deliver complex Dekton cladding systems within residential environments in the greater Seattle market, particularly where precision alignment and seamless visual continuity are required.
