The primary challenge in the Silverdale showroom project was the need for precision and customization. The Thermador showroom required cabinets that not only met aesthetic standards but also provided functional utility in a high-traffic commercial space. Additionally, the use of Dekton Opera, a sintered stone, required careful handling due to its thin profile and large format.
The layout complexity was heightened by the need to integrate inset doors and drawer fronts seamlessly into the cabinets. Achieving a 0" door reveal along the bottom of cabinet #25 to compensate for the gap between the cabinet and adjacent appliances was crucial.
Moreover, the showroom's dimensional requirements meant that every panel and component needed to be fabricated with exacting accuracy. This necessitated a meticulous approach to ensure that all components fit perfectly within the existing space constraints, while maintaining a flawless finish.
Innovative Fabrication Techniques Used
To tackle the challenges, AbsoluteGM utilized STONEEX digital laser scanning to create highly accurate templates of the existing showroom space. This technology ensured that each piece of Dekton Opera was perfectly measured and cut to fit the precise specifications required by the showroom layout.
In our Kirkland facility, CNC fabrication was employed to cut and finish the Dekton panels. This method allowed us to maintain high precision in the fabrication process, ensuring each panel was flawless and ready for installation. The use of Luxe Elmo Edgebend provided a sleek edge profile that enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the showroom cabinets.
Seam planning was meticulously conducted to ensure a seamless appearance in the final installation. Our team worked diligently to integrate the inset doors and drawer fronts, ensuring that the 0" door reveal was consistently maintained throughout the cabinetry, providing a clean and professional look.
